Class of 1971-1978 Reunion

A couple of weeks ago on Saturday 4th September, the class of 1971-78 celebrated a 50th anniversary reunion, organised by Richard Parker. The reunion consisted of a tour or the school with Eddie Ross and a reception afterwards at the newly refurbished Mercury Theatre.

I must apologise for only posting about the event now - a finger injury curtailed any significant keyboard activity for a few weeks!

I was delighted to join past teachers and pupils for a warm, happy and nostalgic afternoon. Officially the steps up to the old staff room are out of bounds these days but a few cones and bollards weren't going to stop these 'Old Gilberdians' from getting a group photo on that hallowed spot.

Former teachers attending included Mr McAleavy, Mr Smith, Mrs Rees and, of course, Mr Ross.
