Graham Sims’ 1960s Photos

Following publication of the staff photos from 1967 Graham Sims kindly got in touch with us to share some images from the same time period. Graham has helpfully provided a little bit of information about each image.

Taken in Mr Brooks (Scoob) laboratory on the second floor - myself looking at camera and Graham Lovegrove to the left.

Same photo as above - in the middle Martin Bowers (Montague) who sadly passed away in 2010. His daughter appeared on Long Lost Family in August 2018 trying to find her father’s family (he was adopted). Martin was mentioned but had sadly died a few years before the programme was made.

Finally - you’ll recognise Mrs Hockney. Here she is teaching us Geography and the photo was taken by one of my classmates with a mini-camera (very new and unusual in those days). She subsequently found out about the photo and was furious and the matter taken to the headmaster for investigation.

My thanks to Graham for sharing these photos. Do contact us at eddiesphotos@icloud.com if you have any other Gilberd memorabilia you’d like us to include on this site.
