Visit of Princess Alexandra - 1981
We're pleased to be able to share this set of photos taken during the 1981 visit of Princess Alexandra to the Gilberd School at Highwoods. We have recently digitised these images which were held in the school archive.
The visit took place during a half term so the Gilberd needed some pupils to come into school for one day during the holiday. (I remember keeping my head well down while 'volunteers' were being chosen for this particular 'honour'!)
The Gazette have today published a retrospective about this visit in the paper and online.
